If you have decided to install your ELF laminated floor yourself, enjoy it! It is really very easy. You only need a few basic tools and if you follow the instructions carefully, you will be able to complete the project quickly and with great success. Remember, you are not alone. CTM is always there to assist you with advice and recommendations.

Tools you will need:

• Knee pads (it is so much easier on the knees!)
• Carpenter pencil
• Tape measure
• Mitre Saw
• Wood specific drill bits
• Buff tape
• Saw
• Spacers

In addition to the floorboards, you will need the following accessories to complete the project:

• PREMILAY (Remember, no PREMILAY or SOUND BLOCK means no guarantee!)
• SOUND BLOCK*
• Profiles for finishing (e.g. end rod, riser cover etc.)
• Skirting and/or quarter round
• Parquet sealants for finishing
• Laminated floor mop and replacement cover
• Cleaners – ELF stain remover and ELF daily cleaner
• Nails, panel pins & woodtille

* SOUND BLOCK is an optional fibre layer that dampens sound when you walk on your laminated floor. It is great for upstairs rooms!

Keep in mind that Elf laminated flooring can be installed on:

• All types of concrete base-floors
• Particle board base-floor constructions
• Fibre-board base-floor constructions
• Existing flooring surfaces such as linoleum, PVC and ceramic tiles.

It is not recommended to use ELF Laminated flooring in any of the following areas:

Bathrooms, Porches, Scullery, Sauna or any area where there is a lot of moisture present. If you would like to use these floors in the kitchen, cover your stairs, or find out more about professional installation, please consult a sales person for more information.

Now you are ready to start the project. Decide in which direction you will be laying the boards.

1  Position the first floor board with the tongue facing the wall.

2  Keep a 12–15mm spacing from the walls whilst installing the floor boards. Complete the first row.

3  Now complete the second row. 4  Click the entire row into place with one motion. Repeat until all the rows are complete and installed.

Please note:

Elf laminated flooring cannot be installed on textile surfaces like carpets.

If you would like to install underfloor heating with your Elf laminated flooring, ask a CTM sales person for advice.
