SURFACE PREPARATION
Ensure the joint is dry and remove all types of contaminations from the joint i.e. dust, oil,
grease, waterproofing, tar, etc. Use a backing cord or bond breaker tape to eliminate
“three-sided adhesion.” The sealant should bond only to the substrates that will be
moving.
The thickness of the sealant has a direct effect on the sealant’s ability to expand and
contract effectively. For joints less than 10mm, the depth of the sealant should be less
than the width of the joint. For larger joints, the depth of the sealant should be half the
width of the sealant. Suitable choice of backing cord will ensure the depth parameters are
consistently met, which increases the effectiveness of the joint.

PRODUCT APPLICATION
EXPANSION JOINT SEALANT is applied using a professional sealant application gun.
Fill the joint from the deepest point of the joint to the surface by inserting the nozzle into
the joint and applying smooth consistent pressure. The joint should be tooled with a
spatula after applying. To create a smooth uniform surface, finish off the joint by using a
solution of soap and water on a gloved finger to smooth the joint.

CURING
The curing rate of this product is highly dependent upon the ambient temperature and
humidity levels. Under standard curing conditions, the EXPANSION JOINT SEALANT
should skin within 24 Hour, be able to handle light traffic within 3 days and fully cure
within a week.
MIXING
This product is ready to use and requires no on-site mixing.

COVERAGE
The coverage of this product is dependent upon the dimensions of the joints. As a guide,
a 280ml cartridge would yield 8-10 linear metres for a 5mm x 5mm joint.

PRECAUTIONS & LIMITATIONS
a. Ensure that the above instructions are adhered
to at all times and do not adulterate the product
in any way as this could result in failure. Rubber
gloves should be used when applying
EXPANSION JOINT SEALANT. In the event of
irritation, rinse skin under cold water. Consult a
doctor if irritation persists.
b. Keep EXPANSION JOINT SEALANT away from pets and children.
c. Do not ingest and do not empty surplus sealant down drains.
